Your funniest real estate story: We had a client that was a bit superstitious. She and her husband had moved out of state before closing on the sale of her home. On the morning of the walk-thru, she called and said she had left something at the house and asked if we could grab it before we closed and mail it back to her. Of course, we agreed. She then told us that it was the St. Joseph statue that she had buried in her yard when she had listed the house. The closing was in an hour and she explained it was under a tree in the front yard. With an overabundance of trees, she tried to direct us to the statue. There were no shovels or anything to dig. With heels on and dress clothes, my partner dug up the statue and made it to the closing just in time, dirty fingernails, and all!
